Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a business coach and a business consultant?

Typically a Business Coach will focus on guiding clients to discover their own solutions and improve their skills by implementing training and team building programs while providing guidance and feedback. Commonly business coaching focuses on broader topics like leadership, company culture or sales training over a longer period of time with less focus on the strategic path of the company and more on the people and processes.

On the other hand, a Business Consultant might be brought into a company or assigned to a project to provide expert advice and solutions to specific challenges such as a contract negotiation. Other times a Consultant may help to create a strategic plan for a company, launch a new division or expand an existing business by providing market research or strategic partnerships in new industries or markets.

To simplify, there is certainly overlap with the two disciplines so it might seem confusing as to what is the right approach for you and your business. Discussing your goals and challenges is the first step in finding out what’s the right decision.

Most times when a business is seeking a consultant they know that’s what they need. The majority of small business are mostly looking for coaching with a small amount of consulting thrown in, so frequently, it’s a combination of both area’s of expertise that help to find the right trajectory. We’ve got you covered.

how long does it take to get results?

Unfortunately there is no one size fits all answer. Sometimes we can help make a difference in just a few hours, larger projects can take much more time. The amount of time we work with a particular client varies based on the subject, purpose, and common goal. We have some clients that we have worked with for years, repositioning ourselves based on the current objective. Often times it’s a smaller investment to retain a consultant then it would be to hire someone full time. We have other clients that we helped to launch a new business or expand and we check in with them quarterly for analysis and review. We are willing to work with you and your team to accomplish your goals. The time it takes to do this varies.

can we give you legal advise?

No. We do not give legal advice. However, we can provide you with referrals to lawyers that we have worked with, continue to work with and trust. If you think you need to talk to a lawyer, we can absolutely refer you to one of our trusted partners. Our role as your trusted advisor also includes knowing where our limits are and when to bring in our strategic partners.
